From an early age I've played with words like other children played with building blocks. Lined up and stacked up just so until the result was as impressive as any towering construction. From songs and short stories to term papers and news stories, I've built them all.
In addition to crafting my own pieces, I've also become adept at fine-tuning other works through proofreading and editing. Knowing how to correctly build something allows for a keen eye to recognize when something needs to be repaired.
With all of these skills, I hope to put my knowledge of English language construction to use on your projects.
In 2014 I received a BA in English (with a Professional Writing concentration) from the University of Texas -- San Antonio. While there, I spent a year on staff at The Paisano, UTSA's award-winning student newspaper, as a reporter and senior copy editor. I worked at Hutto Baptist Church (now Fellowship Hutto) on the Communications team, creating and designing their weekly bulletins, childcare employees' handbook, and various other writing projects. My first published article, a human interest piece, appeared in the Plano Star-Courier when I was 15, and I wrote a biweekly humor column for my high school newspaper. I've had short stories and poetry printed in Forces, the literary journal of Collin College (Plano, TX), and in the Sagebrush Review, the literary magazine of UTSA. I am currently working on more short stories that I hope to have published. In addition to my writing, I have 15+ years experience in the corporate world (telecommunications), and for the past 14 years I've been a stay-at-home dad to three wonderful children.
